Samwoojeonggong, an offshore attraction company, will make its first shovel in the Mieum Industrial Complex, which Busan City has created to upgrade its industrial structure and develop the western mountain region.
Samwoo Corporation announced on the 24th that it will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for a new factory that produces LNG carriers and parts for ship engines in Mieum Industrial Complex in Mieum-dong, Gangseo-gu, Busan, at 11 a.m. on the 25th.More than 150 people will attend the groundbreaking ceremony, including Chung Byung-joo, CEO of Samwoo Corporation, Cho Don-young, head of Busan City's investment planning division, Ha Myung-geun, head of the Busan and Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority, officials from related agencies and citizens.
Samwoo Jeonggong plans to complete a five-story headquarters and factory on 18,972㎡ of land in the Mieum Industrial Complex with a project cost of 25 billion won at the end of March 2012.Shipbuilding and marine plant industrial products produced at this plant are exported 100%.
Samwoo Industrial Co., Ltd. plans to grow into a strong small and medium-sized company with annual sales of 60 billion won and more than 150 employees within the next five years through investment in relocation expansion of its existing plant.The Busan Metropolitan Government expects the secondary production inducement effect to be more than 43 billion won through transactions with more than 50 small and medium-sized partners, which will greatly contribute to revitalizing the economy in Busan.
Starting with the groundbreaking ceremony for Samwoojeong, groundbreaking ceremonies for offshore companies such as Asan, DKC, and Aims are scheduled to follow in the second half of the year.LG CNS, which signed a memorandum of understanding on investment in June this year and plans to start construction in the first half of next year, plans to create a data center with a total floor area of 133,000㎡, the largest in Korea.
The Busan Metropolitan Government has decided to provide administrative support to help Busan's hosting companies start construction of the plant early in the fourth section of the Mieum district, which is scheduled to be completed in the second half of this year.An official from the Busan Metropolitan Government said, "We plan to supply the industrial complexes currently under construction, including the 1,2,3 districts in the Mieum district, the Ori Industrial Complex, the Seokdae High-tech Industrial Complex, and the International Industrial Logistics City."
